Deep Ischgl

December 7th, 2008

I’m really in a hurry, so this will be a very short post.

On Friday, Marie, Matej and I went to the Heidelberg club ‘Deep’. The second time I was there. It is supposed to be one of those fancy clubs, so I had to dress with a tie and everything. Luckily getting in wasn’t a problem. I even got in for free, cause I was like “Hey, actually I should be on the guest list, except Niels [that’s the name of the DJ] forgot to put me on it” and the guy at the entrance: “Uhmm - he didn’t give me a list at all, but OK, you may enter!” Yay for me :D So it comes handy to know people’s first names ^^

The club and the music were quite OK, but the crowd was pretty lame. At least there were just too many weird people. First there was the guy that would always come, situate himself between us, rest for a minute and then start this reeeaaally odd dance with somebody/something that wasn’t actually there - drugs are bad, children! Then there were those guys that were about to start a fight like… 5 times? But luckily each time there was no security to stop them -.- And finally, as some of the people had left and the dance floor wasn’t that full any more, two guys and two girls came, who would just push each other around for as long as we stayed… Honestly, I don’t know how it can be amusing to someone in my age to be pushed around all the time, hitting other people on the dance floor, making a clown out of oneself… (You don’t say that in English, do you? ^^ )

I’m in a hurry, because any moment Alma (the wife of one of my bosses) is going to pick me up, since we’re going to Ischgl for 4 days of company sponsored, winter sports fun. Obviously, I’m not going just with Alma ;) The whole company is going, but we will meet the rest there. I’ll be attending some snowboard training courses, as I’ve never done winter sports before. Hold your fingers crossed that I’ll be back with no broken bones ;)

Look! It’s music on MTV!

October 30th, 2008

Yesterday (or on some other day in the past) MTV launched a new service: mtvmusic.com And it’s great! I, having a music video fetish, am really happy about this! It’s kind of similar to YouTube, but videos are grouped by artists and have additional information. The best one being the director! Yay! This way I learned that Michel Gondry has an older brother, who edited the Daft Punk live cuts from Alive 2007! Unbelievable! :D

Music and all the stuff around it

October 19th, 2008

I just felt like writing another great post, so here it is.

I don’t know if you are well informed about the German music scene, but a lot of things have happened lately. Namely, two great artists have emerged. The first you might have heard about, as he’s been around for some time now. This someone is the greatest of all Jimi Blue. Though you might know his previous single - Hey Jimi!… Heeeyyy…

And the second artist is… … … *drum roll* … Me :) Last Monday I got meself a brand new Guitar Hero for the Wii and it was definitely the right think to do :) The second guitar followed on Friday. You’ll probably say “you spend way too much money on the Wii”, but you are wrong - I don’t. I got both guitars AND the Legends Of Rock game for as less as 40 Euro… And that’s friggin cheap, keeping in mind that usually you can’t get one guitar for that money. Avni and I are already playing some songs on hard… and I must admit - we’re miserable :D We just have not found out yet how to efficiently deal with the 5th button ^^

Back to normality…

September 16th, 2008

…or at least to some extent :) I’m back from holidays for two weeks now and it’s been a really stressful time. But at least the 3 weeks holidays rocked badly! Next to some 5-6 days in Sofia, I went to Tunisia with my mother and my aunt for a week and together with the bulgarian lot, we went to the seaside for another 5-6 days. And it was all just brilliant!

Tunisia was surprisingly cool - you could not tell that the ressort where we went was in Africa. Actually, it was more decent than most resorts in Bulgaria :( As most people there speak French, I had the great opportunity to practice my French - un verre de vin rouge, s’il vous plait… troi bierre…. pour moi d’eaux gazeuse :) Oui-oui - c’etais tout tres bien. However, I’ve no clue of the spelling, so please bare with me :) We made a two days trip to the desert and I was more than amazed - I’ve never imagined it to be so beautiful and exciting (although it’s mostly just sand and rocks).

Sand, more sand, nothing but sand

Camels also turned out to be cooler than expected.

One of my personal highlights was visiting the Star Wars set.

Auditioning for the role of Jewbacca

It turned out that they have some quite odd laws over there - like drinking and driving is okay, as long as you don’t hit anybody. Because then you’ll have to go to prison for some 15 to 20 years. But if you’re dry - it’s just 20 days, to give the family time to grieve.

Or if you steal something you go to jail for 6 months and if you buy snitched stuff - 2 years… Yay for the guy who bought a washing machine for his upcoming wedding and then spent 2 wonderful years in prison -.-

Prostitutes are civil servants, work from 8 AM to 6 PM and get their pay check, despite the number of customers they had. And of course when they retire, the government keeps paying :)

But despite the weird legislation, it’s a great country! So if you’re uncertain about your next holiday destination, I would strongly advise you to go there.

The next destination this summer was Sozopol. It was (as expected) again a great experience, full of precious moments :) If you check out the links to the extensive photo-documentary below, you will probably get quite a good picture of everything. Just a short note - when I presented my notion to buy a water resistant camera, all were “pfff, that’s stupid, don’t waste you’re money, you should better get a good camera for 10 times the price” and so on and so forth. Incidentally, after I got the camera, everybody was like “please take lots of pictures of me under water, pleeeaaaseee” -.-

Mamma mia!

July 23rd, 2008

Yesterday we went to see Mamma mia! Of course everybody except me was late so we had to sit in the 4th row -.- But it was ok. However, the movie was just awesome!!! Usually I’m not really into musicals, but that one definitely rocked! You shouldn’t miss that out. As many pointed it out - Meryl Streep should get an Oscar for that!!! (And that’s my entirely impartial opinion as a big Meryl Streep fan ^^).

The great Euro08

July 3rd, 2008

So I’ll use the Internet and the lack of other things to do while waiting for SP3 to install and I’ll share some implessions form the Euro08. We didn’t win… if somebody didn’t catch that :( But at least we’ve got second! And that’s great! And all thanks to my fancy Lahm-jersey I bought (for fucking 90 Euros!!!!)

Before the championship started, Marina made a post on her blog about the favourite teams of most of us. None of the other teams made it as far as Germany :D Although there were some Spain fans, they were all like “uhm, I like Spain, but they play crap, so Italy/Portugal will win”. And yeah - that does not count! :) I was responsible for the prize that all those would get that guessed the winner. Luckily no-one did, so I don’t have to bother about that now :D

Generally it was a great experience, as expected. Yet it was not as great as WorldCup06 and I don’t believe that I’ll ever experience something like that ever again. We watched all Germany games in one of the local movie theatres, except the game against Poland - we watched that in a pub. And the spirit was almost like on the stadium, everybody screaming and singing Deutschland … songs? (No idea how you call that stuff ^^). The only think that sucked was the critique about players like Gomez and Lahm. Poor Gomez - everybody was like “O-M-G - I could have scorred that”, but …. like…. uhm, no? And the same about Lahm (who still has not accepted my friend request on facebook :D) - “it’s his fault that the Turks scored the second goal”… BUT HE DID SCORE THE 3RD GOAL FOR GERMANY!!! And the goal by Torres - why was Lehmann out there? How could Lahm do something, without like killing Lehmann? ^^

When I get my Internets back, I’ll try to post some photos and videos!

Cheers!

Repair Machines

July 3rd, 2008

Guess what I’m doing right now - exactly, I’m repairing a PC of a friend. Yesterday she called and said that something was wrong with her PC and that she probably had a virus. And as I expected it - it was just a pop-up saying “You have a virus, click here to buy the newest version of bla-bla-bla”. Nevertheless I decided to install an anti virus software and it found 3049203984 viruses (it’s a pretty old PC). Yet after all viruses were removed the internet didn’t work :( And now I have no idea why, but I have to fix it… At least I can use the Internet from my laptop (as I don’t have Internet at home —> changing the provider). So wish me luck, so I can fix it and I don’t have to reinstall Windows, which would take me ages on that old PC!

Yay for repairing machines!

Yay Netherlands!

June 9th, 2008

Thanks Netherlands for a great triumph! Thanks van Nistelrooy, thanks Sneijder, thanks van Bronckhorst for the great goals! :) You saved the day after the mediocre performance of the French team :(

Guess the WebCam!

June 9th, 2008

This is just a quick one.

I just read (a pretty old) post on a blog that I recently subscribed that discussed how it is possible to access all kinds of WebCams on the internet through Google. That’s because most admins did not configure them correctly. Now I tried it out and it still works just fine. However, I find it to be a bit exciting, because you don’t know where the webcam will be (you just see the ip-address).

So try it yourself. Click on following link, jump to some random page of the results and try guessing where that cam is :D
