Movies and stuff

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

I’ve wanted to write this post for more than a week now. The consequence is that it is going to be longer as initially planed :) So I’ve watched quite a lot movies recently and I wanted to share my impressions with you. So here is a short list of all movies I’ve watched in the past two weeks: Atonement, AVP2, Big Fish, Citizen Kane, Disturbia, I Am Legend and Novecento. If you haven’t watched them - most of them were really good! Well, except AVP2 (Alien vs. Predator 2), which was decent and so was Disturbia. If you know the movies, you’ll notice that some of them are quite old (in fact reeeaaally old!). This is probably no surprise for most people who now me, since I have the magic ability to miss good movies and only watch them years later, when everybody else has seen them.

Data retention law

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Although I was quite dedicated not to post any political or in any way serious posts on this blog, I’ll do it anyway now. Today I read an article on a Bulgarian media law blog concerning the data retention law that is introduced in Bulgaria. I was quite surprised to learn that it is introduced in Bulgaria, for I believed that is only a topic here in Germany. Well, I guess I was wrong, as it turns out to be a European directive. It even gets better - here in Germany providers have to retain all connection data for a period of six months - in Bulgaria it is 12 months. It’s kinda sad, as here in Germany there are demonstration all over the country and there is a lot of discussion on this topic everywhere you look. Bulgarians don’t seem to be concerned about that.

CD exchange thing

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

If you don’t want to watch this video, I can just sum things up and tell you what it’s all about. You send your address to these guys and then you receive two addresses of some random people who are in game as well. You send one mixtape CD with your favourite music to each address and you are expected to receive 2 such CDs from two other random persons, participating in this game. Personally, I think it’s an interesting thing to do, since I’m always eager to find new music!

Embarrassment

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

Main Entry: em·bar·rass·ment
Pronunciation: \im-ˈber-ə-smənt, -ˈba-rəs-\
1. something that embarrasses
2. state of being embarrassed

Now that we sorted that one out, I will tell you about yesterday. I met some friends and we went for a beer. As we got bored in the “Alte Feuerwache” we decided to go somewhere else and ended up in an irish pub. They had their karaoke night there and as Tobi is quite a good singer I pushed him to perform something. (more…)

`For excellence, not perfection` - preorder now!

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

The new album`For excellence, not perfection` will be out on January 31st.  This will be the first officially released album of my band ‘Payne Steward Award’. It is inspired by all the winners of the Payne Steward Award, as they all show great commitment uphold to the traditions and the heritage of the game. The album deals with their struggle for excellence! As we believe there are a lot of parallels to old shut down rain tracks, we chose this rather marvellous picture for the cover of our album.

Weird dreams

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

For all those who missed it - yesterday was the Macworld 2008 Conference! All evening long I’ve been spammed by Alex with comments like “OMG - this is brilliant! And common - it’s not that expensive!” and for some reason he copy-pasted every second piece of information that was released on one of the many sites, reporting live on the great event, although he knew I was reading them myself :) But never your mind on that - usually I’m the spammer, sending like 20 YouTube videos a day to everybody from my contact list, who’s online atm :D (more…)

Oh what a wonderful view!

So yesterday Ivan got his driving licence! Congratulations on that! And I decided to honour this very important moment of his life by uploading a Eddie Izzard bit to YouTube that he is most likely to love! :)

Du hast den schönsten Arsch der Welt

Friday, January 4th, 2008

I was quite surprised as I learned yesterday that a German song has made it’s way into Bulgarian clubs! And just now I saw the clip on CityTV (Bulgarian music channel). Kinda weird, although the music isn’t that bad - it’s just the lyrics… Enjoy.
